Text: Poem by Jennifer Armstrong
I am not afraid to leave behind who I’ve been
with firm eyes and steady stride
my heart is creating who I am becoming.
Friend, with you the hearthfire burns bright,
and all the selves we have been and will be
are welcome at the table
where we feed our children.
The time for longing is past
for we are standing on solid ground.
The seed of my life
is planted in the fertile earth of your body
and I feel your life in me,
sending strong roots through all my veins.
The fire is lit
the table is spread
our hands are joined
Beloved
we are home
and that’s all
