We sat at the table of grief.

We took our hearts and broke them, saying,

 “Take this and eat, this is the bread of life.”

We sat at the table of grief.

We took the cup, filled it with our tears, saying,

 “Take this and drink, this is the cup of faith.”

We sat at the table of grief, and we gave thanks.
