Poem by Susan H. Bowker
See us gathered here,
our minds encircling you,
each holding part of your grandness,
all beyond our knowing.
May you feel our sadness
in every touch and story told,
a canyon of loss in our midst
so unfathomably deep.
May you hear our song,
sung through times to come
echoes of tunes that are part of you
and shared with each of us.
And may you know your place
settling firmly in our hearts
like roots already spread
deep and wide forever.
